NCO communicate that the Final Acceptance for the 400.000 tpy rebar hot rolling mill, delivered to Mughal Iron & Steel Industries - Pakistan, was achieved.
With a history of over 50 years of excellence to its credit, Mughal Iron & Steel Industries Limited (“MISIL”) is one of the leading companies of Pakistan in the iron and steel sector.
The Company is involved in many activities from making billets of Mild Steel, Spring Steel, Deformed bar, Re-bar, Cold Twisted Rebar and a huge range of Sections such as “I” Beams, “L” Sections, “C” Sections, “H” Beam, “T” Bar etc. in the downstream industry.
The company decided to trust NCO for an important investment in a brand new 400.000 tpy rebar rolling mill, which has been fully commissioned and reached the desired performances in 2021.
THE PLANT:
Starting from casting square billets with section of 130 mm coming from the existing three-strand casting machine, the mill produces re-bars from 8 to 32 mm in master-bundles up to 18 m length and sub-bundles, in straight and bent form. The quality of finished product is ensured by single slit rolling for smaller bars and single strand rolling mode for larger dia., which grants easy bar down-sizing and strict tolerances, as well as better quality of the finished product.
The plant includes all the NCO latest technologies of long products rolling: CTS housing-less type stands arranged in H and V configuration; highly efficient in-line thermo-processing system allows to produce bars with high UTS and high ratio, starting from low-alloyed steel billet and consequently bold savings in the meltshop production costs; high-speed bar rolling and delivery onto a cooling bed discharging system, cutting-to-length, short bar collecting, double bar counting station and bundling technology for sub-bundles, bundles and bent bundles, automatic tying machines. All arranged in an extremely compact layout.
Electricals, Automation and process control systems are supplied by NCO, and provide Mughal Steel with a complete production control, data collection system of the whole plant, analysis, web reporting with KPI, capable to interface with powerful statistical tools in order to support decision making. New plant automation ensures consistent quality, high utilization factor and yield, workshop coordination and link to plant digitalization to meet industry 4.0 demand.
ROLLING MILL CONFIGURATION:
- 60 t/h PT RHF furnace with dual fuel system and capable to operate in hot charging mode, for billets 150x150x12.000 mm
- No. 20 housing-less stands, arranged in H and V configuration
- In line thermo-processing system (quenching)
- Bar high speed delivery system for smaller sizes in single slit rolling
